The Metropolitan

I took an Art History class in High School. It was one of my all time favorite classes, and led by one of my favorite teachers, Mr. Oram. So I was quite excited when we went to the Metropolitan Museum and it had paintings from most of the painters we ever learned about, and replicas of most of the sculptures and architectural pieces that we learned about from ancient civilizations! It had a huge Egyptian section that was fantastic, with mummies and sarcophogi and tons more. You could spend weeks in that place! As it was we only had the better half of the morning to make our way through, stopping briefly at each exhibit, particularly the famous pieces and moving on. . .

I love Vermeer! That is one of his well-known paintings that I am standing by. His work is beautiful. He deals with light and its effects. I am a huge fan!

We also spent half a day in the Natural Museum of History. You know, the place that the movie Night at the Museum portrays. I enjoyed it too, but not nearly as much as the Metropolitan.
